Reminders:

It is hot! Please send your student with some kind of water bottle. They can refill it at the fountain if they’d like. Thank you!

We need baby pictures for every student. If we do not get your student’s baby picture, it will not be shown with the others at promotion. Please submit these as soon as possible as we have finalized our promotion plans. Curriculum

We have no state testing this week! Yay. We will finish out our state testing next week when we take the MAP reading and math tests.

This week, we’ll work on preparing for 6th grade in both science and math. On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will take a cumulative math reassessment which they can use to better their scores on any summative assessment. The morning class will take their assessment on Wednesday, and the afternoon class will take it on Tuesday. I will meeting with students on Monday and Tuesday so they know which standards for which they still need to show mastery, should they choose to better that score. We also started building tiny houses last week. Students will be asked to find the area, perimeter, and volume of their houses. We will extend concepts further for students who finish ahead of the other students.

We will also start some fun science experiments. We have one science unit summative assessment left, and students will either take that this week, or at the beginning of next week.

Thanks so much for your support as we close out this final year in elementary. It’s been a privilege sharing time with your students and I am the better for it. This week will be an extraordinary week.
