DARE – Mock Middle School

On Monday, May 10, your child will begin a 3-day program as a part of Mock Middle School. During Mock Middle School, your child will have the opportunity to switch teachers virtually.

In the D.A.R.E. class, students will learn the negative effects of smoking,  as well as learn about ways to deal with bullying and peer pressure. All topics covered in class, are supported by the Nevada Academic Content Standards. 

If you would like your child to NOT participate in DARE, please let their 5th grade teacher know in email or REMIND before Monday, May 10th.

Tuesday,  May 11th – 10:20-12:20 (may need extra time after lunch)

(All students must MAP test. There is no opt-out option. Distance learning students will MAP test from home on the Google Meet. All screens MUST be on during MAP testing.)

(2 guest tickets per student ONLY. Assigned seating in the multi-purpose room will be stated on your tickets. RSVP mandatory.)

5th Grade Drive Thru “Clap-Out”:
Monday, May 24th – 4:30-6:00pm
(Please drive thru the parking lot at Stuckey ES and wave goodbye to your teachers. Students must remain in the vehicle.)

This year’s promotion will be held at Stuckey Elementary School in the multi-purpose room. Each student (Face-to-Face and Distance Learning) will be allotted 2 tickets. No extra tickets will be available.

We will be following CDC guidelines:
-Everyone must wear a mask
-Assigned seats
-6ft of social distancing
-No gathering of crowds for photos

An RSVP is mandatory to help us prepare and adhere to CDC guidelines.
*Siblings in attendance at Stuckey will not be permitted to be pulled early from class to attend promotion

Promotion Drive Thru

5th grade will be doing a drive thru “clap out” for the students. We will line the driveway to cheer our 5th graders on to their next adventure. This event will be from 4:30 pm to 6 pm on Monday, May 24th. More details coming soon!

Legacy Tile Pickup

Pick up for the tiles will be Wednesday, May 5th and Thursday, May 6th from 3:30 – 5:30. All parents who ordered tiles must pick them up. We can not send them home on the bus or mail them. If you pick up your child in the afternoon, we can give it to you then.

This week, we will start reading Hatchett, our final novel. Students will all have access to the novel digitally!

Missing Work

All missing work must be turned in by May 14. That only gives us two weeks to get caught up. Each student has a Google Doc with the most impactful assignments listed. Please encourage your student to finish any missing work!

Food Truck Friday/5th Grade Picnic

On Friday, May 21st, P.T.A will be providing a lunch food truck for all 5th grade students. Lunch will include a personal pizza, smores, drinks, and more. All 5th grade students are invited. If students are distance learning, they will need to be dropped off in the front of Stuckey at 12:00 p.m. and picked up no later than 1:30 p.m. Please fill out the attached Google form by Wednesday, May 5th, letting us know if your child will be attending.
